MOSQUERS INCUBATOR PROGRAM - Applications now open

Are you passionate about telling authentic stories that inspire, challenge, and transform? We are excited to announce the second edition of the Incubator Program, an exciting opportunity for emerging Muslim filmmakers in Alberta to develop their craft, share their unique perspectives, and contribute to narrative change in the screen industry.

By joining the Incubator Program, you’ll develop your filmmaking skills, gain mentorship from industry experts, and share your authentic voice through film. We’re looking for filmmakers ready to challenge narratives, showcase the diversity of the Muslim experience, and make a lasting impact on the screen industry.

What the Program Offers

  • Mentorship: Be matched with an experienced industry mentor to guide you through every step.

  • Skill Development: Participate in workshops covering directing, scriptwriting, cinematography, editing, sound design, and more.

  • Hands-On Experience: Work with peers to create a short film, from concept to completion.

  • Industry Insights: Learn about the screen industry and how to navigate your filmmaking career.

  • Networking: Build meaningful connections with professionals and fellow filmmakers.

  • ​​Film Showcase: Present your completed short films at the 2025 Mosquers Film Festival

Key Dates:

  • Mandatory Training Sessions: February 22–23, 2025 (in-person)

  • Program Duration: February–September 2025
    Participants must commit approximately 3–8 hours per week and additional hours during the shoot schedule.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Filmmaking Passion & Skill: Demonstrated interest in storytelling 

  • Age: 18 years or older.

  • Identify as Muslim: This program supports emerging Muslim filmmakers.

  • Alberta Residency: Applicants must reside in Alberta

  • Experience Level: No experience is required

  • Program Commitment: Full availability for workshops, mentorship, and production phases.

  • Program Duration: February–September 2025
    Participants must commit up to 10 hours per week and additional hours during the shoot schedule.
