Episode 14 - Tasneem

The latest episode of the Halal Gap is here, and this week featured guest Tasneem joins the show to break down her experiences in the music scene. From discovering music at a young age to pursuing it professionally, tune in to hear how Tasneem has evolved their sound and their mindset as an artist who really just wants to make dope music.

Tasneem is a bilingual (English & French) Canadian- American producer, singer songwriter, and multi instrumentalist. A child of a South Asian/Kenyan father and Ugandan mother, their multicultural upbringing has influenced their creative alternative sound. They have shared stages with John Legend, Florence and the Machine, Common, and many others. Tasneem has written and produced two solo EPs which can be found on Soundcloud, Spotify and Apple Music. They currently work as a music producer mentor at Daniels Launchpad Artscape Toronto, focusing on women and non binary musicians and producers, helping to bring marginalized voices to the forefront and speaking truth to power.
